Latte for your liver

Scientists have discovered a new benefit to drinking coffee!

Coffee is a controversial beverage; In the past it was believed to cause cardiovascular disease - regardless of the amount consumed. Recent studies suggest that it is a drink that is rich in antioxidants and has a variety of properties, as long as you don’t drink more than 5 cups of coffee daily. In fact, each method of roasting coffee has its own advantages and disadvantages, but today it is known to science that almost all types of coffee help maintain heart and brain health and even reduce the risk of cancer. The latest study, however, links coffee to the ability to protect the liver.

Liver disease is common all over the world, and in recent years its incidence is on the rise. Researchers estimate that 1 in 10 Americans suffers from some form of liver disease, with fatty liver and cirrhosis being the most common problems. In light of this it is good to know that a study conducted in the UK has shown that drinking coffee is able to reduce the risk of liver disease.

Does instant, ground and decaffeinated coffee provide the same effect?

The researchers found that the benefits of coffee to the liver peak at 4-5 cups a day. But you do not have to drink so much if you are not used to it, and in fact it is recommended to stop with 4 glasses. Even if you drink only 1-2 cups of coffee daily, you will experience helpful results.   In general, experts' guidelines today are not to consume more than 400 mg of coffee - equivalent to 3-4 cups - because all its benefits are valid for moderate consumption. If you increase the amount of regular coffee you consume, you can experience adverse side effects, such as an accelerated heart rate and even problems with the blood vessels and the heart.   It should be emphasized that those of you who suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure or heartburn should be careful with the amount of coffee they drink. But still, if you like to drink a cup of coffee every morning and another cup of coffee in the afternoon, you will be happy to know that your habit is healthier than you thought.

Research shows that it isn’t the caffeine itself that appears to be helping the liver. Although the study found that even those who consumed instant coffee derived benefits from it when it came to liver health, the greatest effect was found among the needs of ground coffee, both regular and decaffeinated. Researchers believe this is due to the fact that ground coffee has more Capestol and Kaval - two compounds that are found naturally in coffee beans. However, this does not mean that you must replace instant coffee with ground coffee, as you can still get health benefits from the instant.

How much coffee do you need to drink to get this effect?
